Description
Palmarosa Essential Oil
Palmarosa Essential Oil is an inexpensive alternative to Organic Rose Otto Essential Oil. Due to the high Geraniol content in Palmarosa Aromatherapy Oil, a constituent also present in Rose Aromatherapy Oil, it shares a similar aroma to the much more expensive Organic Rose Otto Essential Oil.
It is related to the plant from which Gingergrass Essential Oil is obtained. And, like Gingergrass Essential Oil, Palmarosa Essential Oil is a very pleasing oil aromatically.
Palmarosa Essential Oil is one of the unsung heroes of aromatherapy… a bit like Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil and Gurjum Essential Oil! It smells amazing and has broad spectrum applications… and, like Orange, Gingergrass and Gurjum it’s very affordable. In fact, these four oils also make for a great blend. But saying that, Palmarosa Essential Oil mixes well with most oils. It is up there with Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil for aiding good digestion (topical abdominal application is good for upset tummies), and. because it is antiseptic, antiviral and antibacterial, it’s great for reducing fever and managing symptoms of most things we’re likely to catch in the winter time.
Palmarosa Aromatherapy Oil For Skincare
Palmarosa Essential Oil is an excellent and inexpensive aromatherapy oil for many skincare applications. It is anti-ageing, repairing and protective.
As with Organic Rose Otto Essential Oil and Organic Frankincense Carterii Essential Oil, (two of the most important essential oils in FACIAL OIL No. 2), Palmarosa Essential Oil contains the deeply anti-ageing constituent Farnesol.
Farnesol is a very important ingredient within skincare because it promotes collagen production.
Palmarosa Essential Oil also exerts several other important rejuvenating skincare benefits. Palmarosa Essential Oil helps to:
- Moisturise the skin
- Protect against free radical damage
- Stimulate cellular regeneration
- Regulate sebum production
- Reduce oily skin + blocked pores + blackheads
- Reduce inflammation
- Reverse inflammatory skin conditions: acne + eczema + psoriasis
- Soothe irritated skin
- Reduce scarring
- Fight bacterial & fungal infections
- Resolve dermal viral infections, including warts + herpes
Please note: Palmarosa Aromatherapy Oil must be diluted in a good carrier oil prior to dermal application.
Palmarosa Essential Oil Emotional Support
Palmarosa Essential Oil is anti-anxiety and anti-depressant, and so provides profound emotional support. Use in a diffuser or oil burner for most immediate effects, or in massage oils and bath & body oils to magnify the healing benefits.
Palmarosa Essential Oil Health Benefits
Palmarosa Aromatherapy Oil health benefits are thought to include: Antibacterial + anti-anxiety + anti-depressant + anti-fungal + anti-inflammatory + antiseptic + antiviral + aphrodisiac + digestive + nervine + stimulant + tonic.

Miranda –
After sleeping funny & ending up in pain & unable to turn my head far, I mixed up some of Wild As The Wind’s palmarosa, copaiba, cade & fragonia essential oils into a carrier oil & rubbed it on my neck & shoulder.
As a regular user & lover of essential oils, it still surprised me how immediate the pain relief was! I just wish I’d not waited til evening before making it…
Rachel Wild –
Hi Miranda, what a great choice of oils! I’m really glad they worked so quickly and so well for you. x
